ABOUT THE MT ELIZA FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

The Mt Eliza Football Netball Club fields three senior football teams and five adult netball teams in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League. Founded in 1968 the club is proud of its history and acknowledges the many generations of past players, volunteers and supporters that have made our club what it is today. ❤💙🏅There is no greater honour than being awarded with Life Membership, and we have 4 very special Redlegs to Celebrate. Great people make great clubs, and these champions are pretty special! Not all superheroes wear capes! We see you, we solute you!! Forever grateful! #redlegpride

❤Sue Shergold
Sue is one of our silent heroes, & her family have been valued members of our club for over 30 years. Sue has worn many hats throughout this time. She started in the late 1990's working in the canteen, where she still remains a current fixture today! She sat on the committee for over 10 years in various roles such as club secretary, memberships & apparel, sponsorship, fundraising & strategic planning. Sue always has a smile on her face, and is a much loved member of the tribe. Thank-you Sue for decades of support & the enormous impact you've had on our tribe!

💙David Thomas (Aka Dirtman, Crazy Leon)
Dirtman played reserves & senior football for over 7 years, leading the team as Vice Captain, then Captain, winning 2 premierships & won multiple best clubman awards. Off the field, he ran Thursday night meals & all functions for over 10 years, & who can forget Crazy Leon!! After Dirtman hung up the boots, he sat on the committee as Vice President, and has been leading our Past Players & Officials crew for over 6 years, still flying down from QLD a few times a year to come run functions & watch his beloved Redlegs! ! A much loved Redlegend,

❤Nathan Clayton (Aka Nadzy)
Nathan started in the U18's in 1997, winning a premiership that year & was awarded with the leagues leading goal kicker. Winning another premiership in 2006, this time in the reserves, he was again awarded with the league's golden boot - despite coming back from multiple knee surgeries. After hanging up the boots, he's been supporting the football department for over 12 years. Between 2013-2018 as the fitness coach, 2 x Reserves premiership coach in 2018 & 2019, senior assistant coach in 2018, and has been on the committee as football director & senior match day assistant coach since 2020. Nath & his girls are chasing the sun, and moving to QLD for 12 months next year. He leaves a great legacy, and we thank-you for your heart beating true!

💙Sam Howell (aka Howla)
Massive CONGRATULATIONS to Sam Howell for playing his 150th game for Mt Eliza!
A very decorated career so far spanned over a 20 year period with an 11 year footy free break in the middle! Amazing!
Now a life member, Sam's full career details and some great memories will be shared later this week.
Congratulations Howla! We love you!
Amazing achievement!

The John Lloyd-Williams Redlegs Academy

In 2023, The Mt Eliza Football Netball Club was proud to launch the the Redlegs Academy.
